Are online courses accredited?

Yes. Mid-America is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Who can enroll for online courses?

The College at Mid-America is a Christian institution whose primary purpose is to provide training for effective service in church-related and missions vocations. Other levels of training are also offered. Examples include: business administration, organizational leadership, Christian studies, and biblical counseling. Applicants must have professed Christ as Savior for at least one year before registration. Maturity of character, personal integrity, and commitment are necessary for acceptable study.

How many courses can I take online?

As many as you like. You can take one course, or an entire degree.

Do I still need to go through admissions just to take one course?

Can I earn any degree online?

All associates, bachelors, and masters degrees are now available online at Mid-America.

Do I have to be a Southern Baptist to attend Mid-America?

While we are Southern Baptist by theology and adhere to the Baptist Faith & Message, you do not have to be a Southern Baptist to attend Mid-America. For more information about admissions requirements, visit the Admissions section of our site.

Are the classes transferable to other institutions?

Yes, as long as the courses fit into their degree program. To be certain, please check with the institution to which you want to transfer the credit before enrolling in an online course.

When do classes become available?

Mid-America offers Fall courses that begin in August and Spring courses that begin in January.

How long are the courses?

Each online course lasts 16 weeks.

Certain courses employ online chats at the professor’s discretion.

Do you work on your own time?

Yes, 99% of Mid-America’s online course content is asynchronous, which means that you access the materials when it fits best with your schedule. You will have to keep up with the course work on a weekly basis. Professors assign specific dates for the completion of papers, projects, and assignments.
